Barbara is taking a well-deserved break…

In light of Barbara’s recent decision to step back from the day-to-day operational and logistical aspects of overseeing Rags to Riches UAE, we want to share some updates regarding the group’s future.

While Barbara is taking a well-deserved break, she remains a vital part of our group. Her passion for sewing and knitting continues unabated, and she’s more than willing to lend a helping hand to new team members as needed. Barbara will also continue to champion the Angel Wings mission and will gladly accept donations of panties and soap, which are essential components of our kits. You can still drop these items off with Barbara.

In Dubai, Ceri Rocca is stepping up as our main coordinator. She will take charge of logistics and organization for the freshly sewn items, as well as the distribution of fabric to our skilled sewists.

Fahmida Seitz will maintain her role in managing our social media pages, blog, WhatsApp groups, and administrative operations, ensuring our online presence and communication continue to run smoothly.

In Abu Dhabi, there are no changes to report. Karen Rowland-Jones will continue her excellent work in overseeing the sewists, while we’re pleased to announce that Latifa Ait-Ghezala has graciously agreed to organize the Abu Dhabi knitathon meet-ups. The drop-off locations in Abu Dhabi will remain unchanged.

We’ll be reaching out to all our sewists, knitters, coordinators, and drop-off locations in the days and weeks ahead to update our active member database.

If you’re interested in joining our dynamic team or if you know of an orphanage that could benefit from our assistance, please reach out to our Facebook page or contact Fahmida and Ceri directly through the following channels:
