The Evolution of Angel Wings©️

Over a decade ago, what began as a few handmade pads sewn on kitchen tables and donated in humble care packages has grown into Angel Wings©️ — our own lovingly refined version of the reusable sanitary pad.

Through trial, feedback, field testing and community conversations, the design has changed many times, adapting to different climates, body shapes, wash conditions and cultural sensitivities.

Today, our Angel Wings are more than just pads — they are a symbol of dignity, sustainability, and hope. But as proud as we are of what we’ve created, we know we are thankfully not alone.

With over 500 million women unable to access adequate sanitary protection during their menstrual cycle across the globe, there are hundreds of organisations, volunteers and change-makers trying their level best to correct this wrong.

Whether it’s large global organisations like Days for Girls, PadMad, Freedom4Girls, The Pad Project, or Period Dignity — or the countless smaller, undocumented community groups — we are all working toward a shared goal.

Together, we strive to end period insecurity and ensure that every menstruator has access to safe, sustainable, and reusable menstrual care. This includes not just the products themselves, but the education to use them hygienically and healthily — and, importantly, the opportunity to gain skills that lead to self-sufficiency.

Together, we are stitching a future where no girl misses school because of her period, no refugee has to use scraps of cloth or paper and no woman feels ashamed or unsupported in managing her cycle.

This is the story of Angel Wings©️— and of the movement they’re part of.
